SDA round 1
Moy.
Local organisers, Bothy Bikes, only completed the course days before
the event.Dropping off the start you were straight into the action, a
slippy gully then a right hand bus stop and the first jump a fallen tree
with only an upside, the other side was a 3 foot drop into a left turn
before dropping right as the course opened up.Then dropping down onto
the road crossing and into the lower section after a little kicker onto
a steep downside, followed closely by a small rock garden into the
pedally section.

After another couple of grassy turns you hit another
upside only kicker. Landing onto stutter bumps, where the roots here
started playing havoc with the approach to a jump made of a rock at a 45
degree angle between 2 trees barely handlebar width apart. Next was some
some north shore style ladder bridges then off the bridges, the dirt
returned as did the stumps, rocks and roots as the course wound its way
down to the finish line. It was about a 3 minute course for the average
rider.

All in all it was a good race with the weather holding put throught
practice day then some on and off drizzal throught out the race
day... Picturs by Joe Mckenzie. Click
